NEWS: Dr Spagnoli speaks at 80th ADA Conference

Dr Francesca Spagnoli, Pan3DP consortium member, was delighted to give a talk entitled “Bioengineered Cell Therapy for Diabetes” at the 80th American Diabetes Association (ADA) Scientific Conference.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference went ahead virtually. According to Dr Caroline Day (Visiting Fellow, Diabetes Group, Aston University “attendance at the 1st virtual Scientific Sessions was slightly dented with 12,537 delegates [compared to >15,000 in 2019], but the number of countries with representation increased to 134 (from 115 in 2019)”.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is a United States-based nonprofit that seeks to educate the public about diabetes and to help those affected by it through funding research to manage, cure and prevent diabetes (including type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and pre-diabetes).
